Golf Shop Supervisor

Supervise the daily golf operation to include golf shop activities, merchandising, and golf seasonal staff and tournament functions.  Practices the Rising Star Core Values of Commitment, Integrity and Excellence. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the supervision and training of Golf Shop employees.
  • Assist in handling of monies and receipts, booking tee times, Point of Sale operations, and even exchange.
  • Assist and supervise in absence of Golf Manager running the daily golf operation, including oversight of group golf events.
  • Assist in hiring and scheduling Golf Shop staff.
  • Assist with Golf Shop merchandising operation; responsible for the input of inventory into the POS inventory system.
  • Coordinate and conduct physical inventories for Golf Shop and provide the Golf Course Manager with a monthly inventory report.
  • Assist with monitoring cleanliness of Golf Shop and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with GHIN Handicap operations.
  • Assist with Food & Beverage Sales and Operations as needed.
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflect the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.


Other Job Functions:

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • May assist in Hotel and Group Sales areas during off-season.


Job Qualifications:

  • Experience Required:  Previous Golf Shop employment and/or retailing experience.  Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Education Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent; additional higher education preferred.
  • Skills, Knowledge and or Abilities Required:  Thorough knowledge of computers and inventory POS (Point Of Sale) system. Ability to communicate effectively with others; understands and complies with all Company and departmental rules and regulations.
  • Licenses, certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:  Indiana Alcohol Beverage Permit; Indiana Occupational License Level 3.
  • Other Specialized Requirements:  Cash handling.
