Wellington's Line Cook

Responsible for the cooking, production of entree, vegetable, and specialty station foods.  May also cook roasted items to be used in other food outlets.  Must be able to maintain high quality food flavor.  Insures that food does not run out for the buffet during daily operating hours. Practices the Rising Star Core Values of Commitment, Integrity and Excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follows recipe specifications and maintains high quality and consistency.
  • Cooks in volume and high quality environment.
  • Works from production sheets.
  • Has knowledge of soups and sauces.
  • Follows directions of Sous Chef.
  • Works cooperatively with others under high stress.
  • Assists prep cooks in food preparation.
  • Wears appropriate uniform - white chef coat, checkered pants, socks, slip resistant black shoes, white cloth or paper chef hat, company issued ball cap or hair net.
  • If under 18 years of age, must abide by all Indiana Minor Labor laws. .
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.

Other Job Functions: 

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned, especially prep cook sheet.
  • Keeps and uses rotated food items.
  • Keeps refrigerators and dry storage organized.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience Required:  Six months previous experience in kitchen production
  • Education Required:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:  Ability to communicate effectively with others at all times; understands and complies with all Company and departmental rules and regulations; basic knife skills.
  • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:  None.
  • Other Specialized Requirements:  Must view sanitation and food handling video and follow established guidelines.
